So you’ve hired our 1.7T Mini Excavator and the track has slipped off!Don’t panic! It’s very easily popped back on!
What you will need to refit the track!
27mm & 14mm Socket
Crowbar
Grease Gun
Gloves
To open the inspection cover, you will need your 14mm sprocket!
Using your 27mm sprocket loosen the grease nipple - just enough to release the pressure off the tracks.
Now it’s time to jack up the excavator using the bucket and blade!
We find the easiest way to remove the track is to use a crowbar!
Always remove from the sprocket side first - use the tracking lever to help!
TOM’S TOP TIP - “watch the fingies” - or you could just wear gloves! Now you’ve got the track off, it’s time to refit!
This time, start with the idler side.
Once that's on, place the track on top of the sprocket, again using the tracking lever to help pull the track into alignment.
DONE!
Simply retighten the nut using your 27mm socket, pump with grease to tighten the track back up and using your 14mm socket pop the inspection cover back on.
Lower the excavator, take it for a spin and you’re good to go!
